Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of TierShop, operated by Jason E Bryant ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use TierShop.

1. What TierShop is

You tell TierShop what you're shopping for. It searches the web and returns three options — a budget pick, a midrange pick and a premium pick — with a comparison and a recommendation.

TierShop is an information service, not a shop. We don't sell the products we show you, we don't hold stock, and we're not a party to anything you buy. Every purchase is between you and whichever retailer you choose.

2. Accuracy — please read this one

Results come from live web searches and from an AI model interpreting what it finds. That means:

• Prices change and may be wrong. A price we show may be out of date, from a different seller, a different size or colour, or simply mistaken.
• Availability changes. Something we recommend may be out of stock or discontinued.
• Specifications may be incomplete or incorrect.
• The recommendation is an opinion, generated automatically. It is not professional advice of any kind.

Always check the retailer's own page before you buy. The retailer's listing is the authority on price, availability and specifications — not us. We're not responsible for a purchase that disappoints you, costs more than we said, or turns out to be unsuitable.

Nothing here is medical, legal, financial or safety advice. For anything where a wrong choice could hurt someone — car seats, medical devices, safety equipment — check with a qualified person, not a search tool.

3. Your account

You need an account to search. You're responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. One account per person; don't share logins. Tell us at tiershop.23@gmail.com if you think someone else is using yours.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live — 18 in most places. TierShop isn't intended for children.

4. Searches, plans and packs

TierShop is sold in searches.

• Free trial: two searches, once, per account.
• Basic: $10 per month, 40 searches per month.
• Plus: $20 per month, 100 searches per month.
• Top-up packs: bought once, never expire.

An Advanced search reads considerably more of the web and costs 3 searches rather than 1. The app tells you this before you run one.

Monthly searches reset each billing period and do not roll over. Searches from a top-up pack never expire, and your monthly allowance is always spent first, so a pack you paid extra for is never quietly used up while you still had monthly searches left.

If a search fails for a technical reason, it doesn't count against you.

5. Billing, renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically every month until you cancel. We take payment through Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

You can cancel at any time, from the "Manage subscription" link inside TierShop, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep your searches until the end of the period you've already paid for — we don't cut you off the moment you cancel.

If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it's resolved.

We may change prices. If we do, we'll tell you by email before it affects you, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

6. Refunds

Because searches are delivered immediately and cost us money to run, payments are generally non-refundable, including partial months and unused searches.

That said: if you were billed twice for the same thing, charged after cancelling, or the service was broken when you paid, email tiershop.23@gmail.com and we'll sort it out. We'd rather refund you than have you disputing a charge with your bank.

Nothing here removes any refund right you have under the consumer law where you live.

7. Fair use

Please don't:

• Automate, scrape or resell TierShop's results
• Share one account between several people
• Try to get round the search limits, or break into the service
• Use it for anything illegal

We may suspend an account doing any of these. If we suspend one for abuse, we don't owe a refund for the remaining searches.

8. Availability

We'll try to keep TierShop running, but we don't promise it will always be available. It depends on services we don't control — search providers, AI models, hosting — and any of them can fail. We may change or discontinue features. If we shut the service down entirely, we'll give notice and refund any unused paid time.

9. Affiliate links

TierShop participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Other "buy" links may earn us a commission in the same way.

This costs you nothing extra, and it never changes which products we pick or what order they're ranked in. The commission is attached to a link only after the three picks have been chosen, by a part of the system that is not told which retailer pays anything — the three tiers are chosen on price and merit, and the recommendation is the one we'd give either way.

10. Your content

What you type stays yours. We store your searches so you can see your history and so we can count your usage and improve the service. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

11. Liability

TierShop is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything arising out of a purchase you made from a retailer.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud caused by us.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using TierShop after that means you accept the new Terms.

13. Ending your account

You can stop using TierShop and delete your account whenever you like. Email tiershop.23@gmail.com from the address on the account and we'll remove it, normally within a few days.

When we delete an account we cancel any subscription straight away, and your searches, search history and remaining balance go with it. We keep the record of payments received — amount, date and reference, with no link to you — because we're required to keep financial records and because a refund or card dispute can arrive months later.

Deleting forfeits any unused searches, including paid top-up packs. If you only want to stop being billed, cancel the subscription instead and keep the month you've paid for.

We may close an account that breaches these Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, and the courts there have jurisdiction — except where the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
